Remember the fun the MSM had with Republican VP Dan Quayle in a school room holding up a mis-spelled word, without mentioning that the class teacher was the one who'd written out the word incorrectly? Or how they made Republican President George H.W. Bush look stupid at a grocery store photo op making conversation with a checkout clerk about how the scanner worked? The repetitive media meme for Republicans is 'out of touch.' Well, this may be the best/worst one yet

Five years ago, Linda moved from Paris to Canada and then to the Israeli port city of Ashdod. Only a week ago, she, her husband and their two sons faced a hail of rockets from the Gaza Strip. Nevertheless, Linda, who doesn't want to be identified by her last name, is delighted to be living in France no longer. "It's much safer here than in France," she says.

If it seems like President Obama has been holding or traveling to some kind of summit meeting every 10 days or so in recent weeks, you're right. Camp David. NATO summit in Chicago. South America. This week's big-shot party is the G-20 in Los Cabos, Mexico. Besides talking a lot in closed meetings to no particular end, the various presidents also issue joint statements of great concern and manifestos that are little-read and quickly forgotten.

Even the locals are asking the question:
About 6 months ago, I moved to Kentucky, about 30 miles away from Fort Knox.
Nobody told me about the bombs.
The first time I heard them, I was like DAMN!
Being from Milwaukee, I sadly became accustomed to hearing gunshots.
But bombs? Neva!
I was told that hearing bombs around here is pretty normal. Most people who have lived here for many years, barely even notice them.
Until now...

Is there anything to worry about if "Super" Typhoon Guchol with 150 MPH sustained winds lands a direct hit on the Fukushima nuclear power plant Wednesday? How about if it's merely a tropical storm with sustained winds of only 75 MPH?
What if the 6.4 magnitude quake June 17th that hit less than 75 miles from Fukushima had been 75 miles closer to the crippled and vulnerable Reactor 4...

Once again the left-wing media edits a video to misrepresent what a Republican is saying in order to make him look the idiot. This time on June 18 at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania, MSNBC and Andrea Mitchell edited the context right out of a video of what Romney said about eastern U.S. chain restaurant Wawa's in order to make it seem as if he was out of touch with reg'lr Americans.

Many of my liberal friends are angry and frustrated.
Not at Obama but at me.
From my vantage point it seems they go through life with blinders on because they simply don't want to see -- or be reminded of -- the president's missteps, failures, deceits and broken promises.
Why is this so?
Let me try to explain it.

Congratulations to Mackenzie Weinger and Reid J. Epstien for accurately reporting the news about White House senior adviser David Plouffe’s trip through television’s Sunday morning talk show circuit. It is truly a pity thatPlouffe and those in the White House who oversee his talking points script cannot demonstrate the same accuracy.

One of the things we were treated to at this year's Right Online event, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity, was the world premiere of the documentary film Occupy Unmasked. The one thing I can say about this film is it is absolutely intense. The amount of violence committed by the "Occupy" leftists is shocking when you see so much of it gathered into one visual presentation. But the behind the scenes lies and the smoke screen deployed to hide who is really behind the creation and launching of this so-called "movement" is just as shocking and this film documents both.

In an ideal world, we would cut corporate taxes and the capital gains tax to help drive economic growth while we cut government spending to the bone and reformed Social Security/Medicare before we even considered raising taxes. That being said, anyone who thinks we’re going to get out of the spending hole we’re in right now without eventually raising taxes is fooling himself.

Outstanding stuff today from that portion of the 'sphere I find myself reading more and more these days.
I'll let Brandon Vogt ring in the news about a deep thinking atheist who followed that thinking to Catholicism:
Mark Shea likes to describe blogger Leah Libresco as “my favorite atheist,” and I’m with him. Leah is a fresh respite from the angry, fundamentalist, rhetoric-laced New Atheists like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and the late Christopher Hitchens.
In contrast to them, Leah is calm and charitable. She’s intimidatingly bright and extremely well-read. And she’s not afraid to objectively examine her beliefs...
