President Obama recently told the press that the public sector economy in the US was doing "just fine". These statistics paint a slightly different picture!
The President will consistently attribute his failure for achieving any significant growth in the US economy to congressional inaction, the "failed policies" of George Bush, the EU financial crisis and/or the slowdown in China...

I think we’re seeing the Democrat party get a wee bit nervous:

“My people are going to learn the principles of democracy, the dictates of truth, and the teachings of science. Superstition must go. Let them worship as they will, every man can follow his own conscience provided it does not interfere with sane reason or bid him act against the liberty of his fellow men.” — Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
Hardly surprising, deeply upsetting, and geostrategically catastrophic, it’s official. Turkey has now passed over towards being an Islamist state. That turning point is marked by a tiny event of gigantic importance.

This week, I spent some time talking with college students about how we can make higher education more affordable. And one of the things I told them was how proud I was that they were making that investment in themselves — because in today’s economy, the best predictor of success is a good education. That’s not just true for our individual success; it’s also true for America’s success.

Another bad week of news for President Obama. The recall of Wisconsin's Republican governor flopped, with Scott Walker winning by more than he did in 2010. Oops. On Friday Obama himself pronounced the nation's private sector economy in fine shape, a week after the anemic 69,000 May jobs report confirmed the economy is sagging again. As that political IED exploded throughout the blogosphere and Twitterverse, Obama called reporters into the Oval Office to say that clearly the private sector isn't doing well. Obviously, some non-Harvard grads mis-heard him somehow.

Yet another first for the Obama administration:
The U.S. State Department removed the sections covering religious freedom from the Country Reports on Human Rights that it released on May 24, three months past the statutory deadline Congress set for the release of these reports.
The new human rights reports--purged of the sections that discuss the status of religious freedom in each of the countries covered--are also the human rights reports that include the period that covered the Arab Spring and its aftermath...

Last week the U.S. Department of Labor gave Americans some very bad news. Only 69,000 jobs were added in May, and the unemployment rate is 8.2 percent — far above the level the Obama administration promised it would be by now when the president’s “stimulus” spending bill was enacted. It’s clear that getting our economy going again should be job number one for everyone in Washington....

Father Barron, with a true teachable moment:
Last week, two prominent Catholic women—Kathleen Sebelius in an address to the graduates of Georgetown University’s public policy school, and Maureen Dowd in a column published in the New York Times - delivered strong statements about the Church’s role in civil society. Dowd's column was more or less a screed, while Sebelius’s address was relatively measured in tone. Yet both...

I paraphrase of course but President Obama appears to be completely satisfied with the way the private sector in the United States is performing right now!
Speaking of the out of touch with the "folks on Main Street" he invokes so often when referring to Mitt Romney, perhaps President Obama should read some more newspapers or watch the news because the private sector in the United States is anything but "just fine"...

Ace at Ace of Spades has stated that his site will go dark today in order to stand up for Free Speech regarding the acts, SWATing and lawfare, performed against bloggers who have exposed Brett Kimberlin (aka The Speedway Bomber) and his associates. Like Michelle Malkin and John Hawkins, I’m not good at shutting up. The whole reason I started this blog way back in July 2004 was because I had things on my mind that I wanted to write about, whether anyone read it or not. It was cathartic. Michelle’s site has literally gone dark, with a black background

For nearly two years we have been subjected to the images of a boisterous Occupy Wisconsin crowd, exhibiting their menacing behavior toward opposing politicians, small business owners, and anyone else who dared disagree with their sense of entitlement.
Thousands of agitators were brought in from all over the country to protest, intimidate and gather hundreds of thousands of signatures, many of them fraudulent. And all that to remove from office a duly elected governor, whose only crime consisted in the audacity of implementing his own campaign’s promises.
Even now, after defeating the union mobs for the second time in a row, the

Apparently no strangers to racist violence at their football (soccer) stadiums, Poland and the Ukraine are the nation hosts of Euro 2012.
And while both countries deny these charges, some other governments have issued warnings to any of their citizens who are traveling to this event to be on guard for any potential situations. Good advice indeed...

Fifteen months ago, you may recall, it took only the threat of Moammar Gadhafi killing civilians to launch President Obama into launching Tomahawk missiles and U.S. planes and other NATO forces leading from the front. Because, the president explained 10 days later after he'd taken his extended family on a South American tour, America is a civilized country, when it suits the president's purposes. And he simply could not permit such a threat to humanity....
