“…if a single mother raising her children in the ghetto has to worry about drive-by shootings, drug-deals, or whether her children will join gangs and die violently, her already difficult task becomes impossible. It doesn´t help matters when prime time TV has Murphy Brown – a character who supposedly epitomizes today´s intelligent, highly paid, professional woman – mocking the importance of fathers – by bearing a child alone, and calling it just another ´Lifestyle Choice´” — Dan Quayle

The current political crisis in Europe, and in America as well, is not at all hard to understand. Think of it like this: society is not infinitely malleable. If you pull a rubber band far enough it is either going to snap back or it will break.
Western democracies have worked very well for 60 years now. They have been remarkably prosperous; remarkably peaceful. They defeated the Communist challenge. In a sense they — and I include the United States here — are victim of this very success.

Are Native Americans still being oppressed? Are they a separate people from the rest of America? At what point in history do we let go and move on? A generation? 100 years? 200 years? A millennium? Never? To always hold grudges and claim victimhood for one's situation today due to what happened to one's ancestors, generations removed? And what of those Americans of "oppressed ancestry" who are currently experiencing great prosperity in today's America? Who have benefited because of the course America took- good and bad, just and unjust- in its formulation?

It was bound to happen! Former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen is so determined to stay on the straight and narrow that he took a second job. The second position is not for the money but to insure that he is not sitting around being idle. Remember folks, the idle brain is the devil's playground (Robert Preston as Harold Hill in the Music Man).
In an exclusive report from Newsbusted anchor Jodi Miller, we learn that Charlie got a government job, he will be a chaperone for the secret service when they leave the country. Sheen says he

According to the secular-left, anti-God forces, who for years have been trying to distort, bury and airbrush away any and all evidence of our rich Christian Heritage—our founding father were —simply put——too stupid to articulate what they really meant to say (you know, some real Beavis & Buttheads like Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson). Thank goodness some Anti-God jackasses came along in 1947 and started translating for us, huh?
If you are detecting a hint of sarcasm/ skepticism on my part— DO NOT CHANGE THE CHANNEL–it’s because any intellectually-honest analysis proves these assertions to be nothing more than ill-informed, arrogant....

Sgt. Gary Stein was discharged from the Marines because he created a web page critical of President Obama. Despite the fact that I agree with Sgt. Stein’s political views, I think the Marines did the right thing. One of the things that makes our military great is the fact that it is a non-partisan institution. Sure, we know that individual service members have political views — often strong ones — but the military presents itself as assiduously non-partisan. Our American military, including the individual men and women serving within it, supports America as a whole, not specific parties within America.

It is interesting that the Obama White House, a place where everyone thinks a pre-born baby is just a lump of "unviable cells" and not really a person, is now insisting that pregnant mothers must register themselves and their unborn baby on the visitor log when they visit the White House.

NBC has created an entire phalanx of videos centered on environmental issues to show its fealty to the religion of greenism. There are celebrities, trite slogans, and all sorts of absurd promises on what going green can do for us all. But are these "solutions" really any good? Let's look at one of NBC's claims to see if it makes much sense, shall we?

When a friend of mine sent this clip from the Colbert Report — a chat between Steven Colbert and Georgetown’s Father Thomas Reese on why Paul Ryan’s budget bothers Catholics — I expected to like it. I like Colbert. I like Jesuits. I like Father Reese. Though I’m not a Ryan “fan” he seems smart, and I like the idea (the very novel idea!) of an actual budget being proposed within our government.
And yet, I found myself not much liking the clip at all.

One very real problem with the “Julia” concept is that throughout the 12 stages nowhere is it mentioned that “Julia” ever gives back for any of the benefits she receives. That is particularly true when “Julia” is 27 years old, when she is 31 years old, when she is 37 years old, when she is 42 years old, and when she’s 67 years old.

Claiming membership in some designated “victim” club supposedly exempts those members from any criticism: Obama, Sharpton & Jackson are black, so obviously we’re all racists who identify them as the shakedown artists and socialist gangsters they are; Dan Savage is gay, so obviously we’re all homophobes who point out what as a bigoted little bully he is; Sandra Fluke is female, so obviously we’re all misogynists who correctly identify her as a freeloading, pathethic wimp; Elizabeth Warren isn’t/never was/never will be a Native American, but obviously we’re women-hating bigots who call her the Affirmative Action hustler she is.

Composites seem to be all the rage this month, with the revelation that Barack Obama used them for girlfriends in one of his books and now his campaign has invented Julia to represent something in the presidential campaign. So, we decided it's our turn to provide a composite of two current news stories that seem to have been largely overlooked in the topsy-turvy news that's afflicting so many of us with dizziness, even six months out from the presidential election. Both of these bizarre stories are true.

Ladies and Gentleman Gerald Riviera is angry. In an op ed written for Fox News, he demands that his fellow news figures stop using the term "illegal aliens" to describe people who broke the law by sneaking into this country.
The story is therefore easy and cheap to illustrate. The fact that it is a lazy stereotype of undocumented immigrants, which ignores the hefty percentage of European, Asian, Australian and African visitors who overstay their visa is irrelevant, too complicated and lacking emotional punch.
