On April 20, Michael Mukasey appeared before the Republican Lawyers Association’s National Policy Conference and C-SPAN cameras were there to record his discussion of the conference theme: Restoring a Government of Laws: The Obama Administration v. The Constitution. Mukasey, the former Bush Administration Attorney General, headlined a half hour discussion -- which included a Q&A session -- and offered one of the more cogent explanations I’ve seen of why Obamacare is so wildly unconstitutional.

It’s time for a revival of interest in the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, one of the last American politicians with serious intellectual credentials as well. (Compare Moynihan to Obama to see how shallow and mythical are the latter's intellectual attainments.) Moynihan was one of the first people to try to deal with the lurch leftward of the liberal and Democratic streams that is now so dangerously dominant in America.

In conjunction with the US presidential political silly season really kicking-off in earnest, tomorrow the silly season surrounding the NFL Draft will come to an end! The Number 1 player to be picked tomorrow may not be much of a surprise, but jockeying for draft position for the rest of the players will finally be completed. In anticipation, here's a look back at history for how Number 1's in the past have worked out. US politics can be very similar to Number 1 Draft picks where some work out for the country while others, as in the current case, don't!

The BBC brings us the story of US army chaplain and Catholic priest Emil Kapaun who is being considered for the Medal of Honor and for sainthood by the Church: On 2 November 1950, Father Kapaun made the decision that led to his death. The Korean war chaplain was in the middle of a firefight, with the American forces overrun by Chinese soldiers outside a crossroads town called Unsan in North Korea...

One can hardly keep up with these people and their overreach into our lives. A proposal by Labor Secretary Solis to ban chores on farms for children under 18. Child Labor and all that. Big Sister knows better than Mom & Dad. And you thought the kindly Obama and his cronies just want to make sure we all have the basics. Think again. Your children are Ours.

If you’ve been following polls, you’ve probably noticed something interesting: When people are asked about specifics, such as Obama’s performance on the economy, national security, immigration, etc., they give him very low scores. However, when those same people are asked about Obama himself (“do you like him?”), they say they do. He’s got very low performance scores, and very high likeability scores. This baffles me. To begin with, I don’t see that Obama is in any way likeable. I recognize, however, that my dislike for him reflects a bone-deep bias for his policies, and this bias spills over into my having

Sixty-four years ago (by the Hebrew calender) Israel declared her independence. Israel's independence would have been short lived were it not for the strong will of President Harry S Truman, who became the new Jewish State's first international supporter, not because of any political stance, but because he thought it was the right thing to do. When Israel’s Chief Rabbi, Isaac Herzog, visited the White House after Israel declared her independence he told Truman, “God put you in your mother’s womb so that you would be the instrument to bring the rebirth of Israel after 2000 years.”

To this day, despite having the most popular and profitable radio program in the United States, Limbaugh remains a polarizing figure. He is a convenient lightning rod for the left as they seek to mischaracterize the conservative message he promotes. And they have done a great job of disparaging conservatives. From a sexist Rush Limbaugh to the Tea Party racists to Paul Ryan seeking to throw Grandma off a cliff, the left in general and the media in particular have done a spectacular job of misrepresenting conservatives to those who are like I was twenty years ago, too busy or

Obama is an autocrat. Were we a South American nation he'd be our Hugo Chavez. He is not interested in democracy, our republican form of government, or listening to other's opinions. And he most certainly is not interested in allowing the American people to see their will reflected in their duly elected officials. It's his way or the highway. Period.
