Obamacare: Nancy Pelosi Was the Only Honest Democrat
The Lid, by Jeff Dunetz

Growing up , my friends used to tell me that the worlds biggest lie was "the check is in the mail." Since the election of Barack Obama my friends were proven wrong many times over and most of those lies were told in defense of the President's signature program; Obamacare. In the final days before affront to personal liberty was passed the Congressional Black Caucus tried to gain a political advantage by telling lies about the tea party, but those weren't the worst lies. There was one truth--according to then Speaker Nancy Pelosi we wouldn't know what was in the bill

So Paul Ryan releases his budget proposal and the Democrats get hysterical:

1. Our food won’t be the same: “The cuts to domestic spending, if applied across the board, would lead to fewer food inspectors, fewer air-traffic controllers, and so forth. That would mean more delays and cases of food poisoning, and so forth.” (Brad Plumer)

2. It’s savagery: “Over the medium term, of course, it’s a plan to savage the poor while giving big tax breaks to the rich.” (Paul Krugman)

Apparently it's all sweetness and light, unicorns and fuzzy bunnies in the YouTube comments section of Obama's new hagiographic, hack-u-mentary short film directed by Academy Award-winning director David "star-struck" Guggenheim. Barely a cross word is seen there about the Obammessiah since most negative comments seem likely to have been deleted from the YouTube page leaving only the most sugary, sycophantic sap behind.

The Trayvon Martin killing, while sadly generic, is twisted into a platform for the Left’s usual crew of race mongers

Sequestered here on the Left Coast I hadn’t paid any attention to the Trayvon Martin murder. Today, though, it forced itself into the forefront of my brain. As the media spins the story, it’s a horrific case of a very wholesome, very young black man cruelly executed in a “safe,” “white” neighborhood by a ferocious non-black man (sold by some as white, admitted by others to be Hispanic), with the man clearly acting in a racial fury. Here are reports on some other racial fury the story, as the media sold it, has stirred:

Shake Shake Shake! Shake Your Romney! Shake Your Romney!

Thank you Mr. Fehrnstrom for saying out loud and confirming exactly what many conservative new long ago; Mitt Romney is promising to conservatives whatever it is that he thinks they want to hear without any intention of keeping it. The only thing shocking about this revelation is that Eric Fehrnstromn said it out loud, not in a conversation he believed was off the record or private, cut being broadcast by CNN live.

Of course the Bush moment was well intentioned if ill-timed and ill-conceived! The Obama moment? Well... I speak again today of the "Arab Spring" in Egypt. I speak about it in the context of the Obama administration's rush to endorse this so-called push by the "people" to overthrow a dictator and to embrace democracy. At the time many around the world knew that the prospects for the Egyptian government to fall into the wrong hands (i.e. Muslim Brotherhood) was great. Everyone save for many on the left and the White House...

Almost two months ago for the first time ever this site made an endorsement in a GOP primary campaign. Though sure of the endorsement itself it was a concern if readers would be interested in reading about my support for Rick Santorum (or anyone's support for any candidate to be honest). There was also a worry that every other story about the campaign on this site would be seen through the prism of that particular post.

Could I have been wrong about the virtues of requiring ID to vote? I wanted to briefly revisit the controversy surrounding the requiring of voters to show ID in order to be allowed to participate in the election process. I have been a strong supporter of the idea as expressed in one article with the fairly straightforward title of, "What's wrong with requiring voter ID?"

Just a quick update as it's been a week since surgery. Yesterday we received the final lab report confirming that her lymph nodes are negative for cancer. Great news in and of itself. I can't tell you how relieved I am. We do have our first meeting with the Oncologist Friday where we should see the results of the genetic testing that was done and we should also be making a decision as to the need for chemotherapy. We're prepared for treatment if necessary, we're hoping they tell us it won't be. For you praying types, there's a focus for ye

The fad of holding up signs with scripture on them at sports events has died down lately. But there was a time when practically every game had someone flashing “John 3:16”. I am told that back then a major newspaper received a letter to the editor asking “What does 'John 3:16' mean, anyway?” Well, just in case you haven't heard...

To understand the full dimensions of the coming Republican landslide, one need look no further than the Senate races around the country. Because the presidential race is obscured by the heat of the Republican primary, the scale of the coming upheaval is less evident in presidential polling. But a survey of the key Senate races suggests not just a GOP victory but a total rout.

He hasn’t been too excited to discuss it in public, either, mostly mentioning it during fundraisers with the 1%, who can already afford really good insurance plans. He rather failed to discuss it during the State Of The Union. He avoided the subject during the run up to the 2010 midterms. He must really be proud of his signature legislation, signed March 23, 2010

Tom Hanks has made a mockery of himself by participating in the Barack Obama ridicumentary “The Road Traveled.” The single most ludicrous phrase, arguably ever, uttered by Hanks was

“He would not dwell in blame”

Good grief. It’s ALL Obama does. Brit Hume wondered how Hanks could blather those words without coughing. Obama lives to blame. He revels in blaming others. A Google search for “Obama blames Bush” yields 4,400,000 hits. Curiously, the first link that appears in a search that requests “Obama blames Bush” generates a Kos link that says “Romney blames President Obama for Bush-era law.” One wonders how that

When we think of tyranny, we tend to think of it in sharp, dramatic, bloody terms. Tyranny is the stark economic divide between a corrupt leader and his starving people, or it’s the day to fear of citizens in a police state. Few of us recognize, or are willing to acknowledge, that tyranny, at it’s most fundamental level, is the loss of individual freedoms, with a concurrent increase in state power. When people must bow to the state’s dictates all day every day, without recourse, they are subject to tyranny, even if they’re neither starving nor physically brutalized.

Now the very same accused criminal that Chicago Democrats wanted people to vote for in Tuesday's primary is being pressured to to step down from his office now that he won -- pressured by the exact same Democrat officials that told people to vote for him only three days ago. This particular story is a perfect example of how Democrats a). Don't care what voters want, b). Don't care if their elected officials are crooks, c). Would rather see criminals in office than see a single Republican win an election.

As I read through Time’s The 140 Best Twitter Feeds of 2012, I couldn’t help but think, “Geeze, these are really boring.” Well, as a Twitter aficionado, let me suggest some conservatives who I think are a little more worthy of a follow. Keep in mind that I didn’t take raw numbers of followers, status, or who follows me back into account. I just picked out what I believe to be the best conservative Twitter feeds. No disrespect meant to anyone who wasn’t included.
