political optics have never been Barack Obama's strong suit.
He talks, by golly, about ending special tax breaks so that every American pays their fair share, while 36 of his own aides owe the IRS more than $833,000 in back taxes.
He urges Americans to vacation on the beleaguered Gulf Coast while his wife flies with pals to a luxury hotel in Spain. He promises the most open government in history and VP Joe Biden meets with the chief of administration transparency -- in a closed meeting. Twice. So, Thursday...

Is the United States fighting a global war on terror or not?
If the United States is fighting a GWOT (aka Overseas Contingency Operations for you Obama liberals out there), and we most definitely are, do covert monitoring operations reside so far outside of the realm of acceptability as an appropriate course of action?
A better way to ask the question might be whether this NYPD surveillance of mosques and schools by one of the critical law enforcement entities tasked with protecting New York City, home to Ground Zero, a wrong tactic...

The song may say you only hurt the one you love, but in politics you hurt the one who gives you nightmares and Marco Rubio makes democrats wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat screaming at the top of their progressive lungs. Anybody who articulates conservatism as well as Rubio, who ties it to the American dream and presents it as the best hope for the average Joe in this country would frighten the Democrats. Rubio however, has two other significant and fear inducing things going for him.

During last night’s debate, John King asked Mitt Romney if he forced Catholic hospitals to provide emergency contraception to rape victims when he was Governor of Massachusetts. Romney replied as follows: "No, absolutely not. Of course not." Romney is a liar.

Once Barack Obama said that babies were a punishment:
“Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old,” he said. “I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.
But now we learn that in Obamacare, pregnancy is not simply a punishment, it is a disease.

The press has given the President a pass on his weak response to the gay marriage issue. Obama can simply say that his views are “evolving” but the GOP candidates are subjected to being grilled about the nuances of their personal views on homosexuality. The media was very quick to bring up and keep the questions coming about DADT and other gay rights issues in previous GOP debates.
When the President is challenged about social issues he shows contempt to the media and begs, “Come on, guys!” And the media is happy to appease.

The American people haven’t been dragging their feet on electric cars because they’re hidebound or technophobes; they’re not that interested because the technology just isn’t there yet. Electric cars are dramatically overpriced, they underperform, and they’re generally inferior to cars powered by internal combustion engines. Incidentally, no matter how much of our tax money we pour into electric cars, they may NEVER be viable and we may always have these kind of problems.

Unsurprisingly, this wasn’t a great debate. John King was back as the moderator and he followed the standard pattern of getting the candidates to fight followed by a lot of questions that were designed to keep the heat off of Barack Obama. This debate was especially tedious because they went back to contraception and spent a long time talking earmarks, which is funny since everybody on the stage, including Mitt Romney, was an earmarker.

Put another way, if you think Iran doesn't matter to you, think again!
Iran is someone else's problem right? Most definitely wrong!
In addition to the global risk that a nuclear Iran would pose, its current saber rattling is having more of an immediate and extremely negative impact on the price of crude oil.
Do you remember an old ad that tried to entice people to switch from oil heat to gas heat? At the time, on a relative basis, the prices of the two tended to track each other making the expense of conversion seem like a non-starter...
