How do we, as prompted by the media, measure the mortal equivalence between the deaths of two people? In the first place don't try and find a definition for mortal equivalence because as far as I can tell I may actually be the coiner of the phrase. Until I'm not of course. What I mean by this question of mortal equivalence starts with the fact that the death of Whitney Houston, although for the most part self-inflicted, is most certainly a tragedy.
