I did it! I went through all umpteen hundred emails in all my accounts and I feel positively purified. I also have twenty-seven tabs open, all of them with content that’s just begging to go into a round-up. This is not that round-up. Instead, while I work on that round-up, I have wonderful pictures from Caped Crusader, Sadie, and Raymond Jelli. Aren’t I blessed? (See images.)

Where are the Occupy Wall Street rabble-rousers and enemies of elitist privilege when you need them? Straining their neck muscles to look the other way.

The Senate race in Colorado has begun to turn in favor of the Republicans over the last few months but that favor may grow as this week it was learned that some 22,000 citizens are losing their healthcare plans. But Politico claims it is "unclear" if those cancellations are a result of Obamacare.

Boy, it’s getting interesting out there. Take the Republicans’ War on Women (WOW) for example; it’s probably the Stockholm Syndrome, butt apparently women are beginning to identify with their oppressors: (SNIP) Why? Well, I’ll let Tina Brown (yes, that Tina Brown) explain why women feel “unsafe” with Obama: (SNIP) They’ll probably come to their senses by November 4th however, since, as Big Guy himself told us, his policies are on the ballot. Or maybe not, let’s get a clarification from the re-coifed Little Debbie...

The USA isn’t the only country undergoing what Obama referred to as “fundamental transformation.” The liberal ruling class has been importing massive numbers of welfare colonists from the Muslim world to populate slums, with the ultimate goal of transforming Sweden into a non-European country. Since the entire nation has not gone insane, some Swedes aren’t happy about it. These Swedes are marginalized and made to shut up.

It’s always the same: Over the weekend, because of family demands, I get almost no time at my computer, and my email starts to back up. By Tuesday, between my two email accounts, I have several hundred unread emails. I then do the logical thing: I cravenly avoid my computer. Finally, late on Tuesday or perhaps by Wednesday, my conscience finally catches up with me and I embark on a frenzy of responding to emails, reading articles, and posting. (Read more.)

Pew Research Journalism Project has a slightly interesting survey out:

"Conservatives are more likely to distrust news sources that don’t reflect their point of view, the study said."

The delicious irony is in how liberals continue to fail to perceive the obvious: That the reason why conservatives trust “one” major news source than “trust of 24 of the 36 news sources measured”, is for similar reasons as to why liberals gravitate toward all those other news outlets. The other ones- NPR, NYTimes, MSNBC, etc.- tilt center-left to far left. FOX News is the only cable news network that leans conservative.

I find my Droid X and the Rosary App I downloadedfor free, I find my beads given to me by the angel who ran our RCIA program at St. Joan of Arc´s and I head quietly downstairs to my living room, my dog Harley following sleepily and looking at me as if I´ve lost my marbles...

Everyone who listens to Ronald Reagan’s “A Time For Choosing” is struck by another “time” aspect: The speech is timeless. Sure, details have changed here and there (mostly the details with dollar signs in front of them), but already on October 27, 1964, Reagan clearly delineated the difference between a political ideology that sought to subordinate the individual to the state and an ideology that sought to subordinate the state to the individual. Don’t blame me, I’m just connecting the dots. Just 12 days ago, at the cocktail party following Lady M’s White House Fashion Education Workshop, she finally wore a frock by America’s iconic designer Oscar de la Renta, (SNIP) Today, Oscar is dead. Coincidence? Officially, yes, butt let’s examine the evidence: first, Oscar was never a fan of MO’s mini-me cardigans: Fashion can get ugly. It looks like the king of American fashion is openly dissing the First Lady (SNIP) “You don’t show up at Buckingham Palace…in a sweater.” Even one that fits so well...

Former Clinton Administration Labor Secretary Robert Reich recently called on the government to force young people to spend two years either “serving” in the military or performing some other type of government-directed “community service.” Neoconservative Senator John McCain has introduced legislation creating a mandatory national service program very similar to Reich’s proposal. It is not surprising that both a prominent progressive and a leading neocon would support mandatory national service, as this is an issue that has long united authoritarians on the left and right.

Houston recently passed an ordinance through its city council that has sparked quite a bit of controversy amongst conservative evangelicals. The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO), a broad-sweeping, left-leaning law trumpeted by the City of Houston and its openly gay mayor, Annise Parker, is supposed to protect gay, lesbian and transgender people from discrimination. All well and good, but according to the Independent Journal Review, the ordinance to ensure nondiscrimination, discriminates against those of faith who oppose it.

I suppose most readers will open this article expecting an exercise in frivolity. This is far from the being the case. The title was inspired by science, by scientific findings, by the scientific investigations of David Pizarro, PhD, a political psychology specialist at Cornell University. Professor Pizarro, and others, have determined that images and even extremely subtle reminders of disease and contamination seem to push people toward the conservative end of the spectrum. This conclusion is substantiated by a research article published in “Psychological Science,” a journal of the Association for Psychological Science by Pizarro and his colleague Erik Helzer.
